Last month (Jan) I ran a promo for one of my niche info products and thought you might be interested in the results and hopefully give you some ideas for your own…

The promo was a January Special where I discounted the offer by $10. This was promoted to my subscriber list only – those who had not bought from me yet.

The list is approx 2000 subs but I had really neglected it over the past 6 months, so it wasn’t going to be nowhere near as responsive as it could have been.

For the promo I used the existing sales page as a template and just added the following blurb to the top:

Special January Sale For
Subscribers of _________:

Get a DEEP DISCOUNT – This Month Only

I also edited the order form and anywhere on the page mentioning the price to reflect the January sale and the discounted price point.

RESULTS:

These results came from sending about 4 emails throughout January, also I took down the “Discounted January Sale” page first thing on 1st Feb.

(Note the regular sales page converts consistently at just over 2%)

12.1% Conversion

205 unique visitors, with 25 front end sales. (I think that is a 12.1% conversion).

I also made another two affiliate sales for a $97 offer on the download page

Yes the numbers are small and I certainly won’t be retiring on the back of this lol. But all in all not bad for a quickly thrown together promo to a neglected freebie list lol.

Of course January is over but you can run a discounted promo at any time… Hint it doesn’t have to necessarily be a “January Sale”!
