Wow – it amazes me just how fast time seems to fly by.  I don’t believe my little girl will be six this year. It doesn’t seem so long ago she was just a baby in nappies!

Anyway the first quarter of this year has just passed and I would encourage you to review how your business has been doing so you can spot areas that need improving so you can make more money for the rest of the year.

So we’ll run through a few scenarios and with each give some quick tips on how to do just that:

1) Not Started an Online Venture Yet

If you are in this category maybe you have only just started looking to start. Or maybe you have been buying up internet marketing products for years, spent a small fortune on them but still haven’t got started.

Either way you need to knuckle down and get something going. My advice would be focus on building a list.

List building is STILL working right now in 2012. What with all the Google changes that happen every 5 minutes you can’t rely on them soley for traffic. When you have a list you can send your own traffic just by sending an email.

Quick Blueprint To Get Started

Target Market.

I would pick a popular market where there are a lot of different information products being sold. Also  I would look for higher ticket items or membership sites that you can also promote as an affiliate.

Website

Get a domain name – the shorter the better. I would get a dot com.

Then all you need is an autoresponder service to handle your emails and create opt in forms etc.

I use Aweber – you can start with a $1 trial

Squeeze Page

I find that simple squeeze pages work best. Have a headline, subhead and maybe a few bullets and your opt-in form.

Offer a short report, audio or video. Here the quality of the content you offer is more important than the quantity. Hint: some quality PLR will do here as long as you are allowed to give it away!

Right on to the next one to review:

2) You Have a Website But You Have Little Or No Traffic

I would list the best traffic sources for your market and then just try one of them. Make sure you have tracking set up so you can see how the traffic converts to subscribers and sales and make tweaks along the way.

Also don’t give up after just 300 unique visitors, I mean you have to drive some decent numbers while testing along the way to really determine if a particular traffic method will work for you or not.

3) You Have a Website But You Have a Small List and Small Profits

The obvious thing here is to start getting more subscribers! Most people would think “I need to get more traffic”. But first see what your opt-in conversion rate is. If it’s low then maybe you need to tweak your squeeze page so you can get more of your existing traffic on to your list!

Or maybe you are not using quality traffic sources. In which case try getting traffic a different way. Ask yoursel

Can advertise on any targeted forums or blogs?

Are there solo ads available for your market?

If not could you contact other email list owners to ask them if they would be willing to send a solo ad for you, or if you could do some sort of cross promotion?

If you don’t have an advertising budget you may want to look to do guest posts for other peoples blogs or create email newsletters for other peoples email lists where you will have your link at the end of each post or newsletter.

4) You Are Not Making Enough Sales

This is a biggie. If you are email marketing then are you building relationships with your subscribers and sending good content as well as selling? Or are you just sending pitch after pitch?

If your subscribers know, like and trust you they are more likely to open, read and take action on your emails. This will naturally lead to an increase in sales.

If you are just selling affiliate offers then are you promoting quality products?

Sure you want to tarck things like E.P.C (Earnings Per Click) but do you also check it after the refund period?

Also if you start to promote worthless, hyped up offers that won’t help your subscribers reach their goals then they won’t buy from your recommendations anymore.

A simple way to increase sales is to simply find out the needs and wants of your subscibers and create your own products that will help them achieve their goals.

To do this simply ask them – you can do this via a blog post or better still send a broadcast message to your list. Even better if you reply personally to the responses.

See how this approach both builds a relationship with your subscribers while setting up the sale at the same time?

This is because your mindset has shifted from “How Can I Make Money?” to “How Can I Help My Subscribers?“. This way is a win-win as the increased sales will naturally follow.

1) It can make a HUGE difference to your profits

2) It’s a lot easier to do than you’d think

Now while I have a little experience in this area and more knowledge than most, I do NOT consider myself an expert… So I asked Sean Mize (who IS a leading expert) to share some unique content just for my readers, and he was happy to do it!

A common misconception about coaching is that it is difficult to do, and you need lots of experience, both in your chosen coaching field, and technically (so you can handle payments, etc.). And it’s not your fault – because that is what you are led to believe based on what people say about starting a coaching program.

But the truth of the matter is . . . starting a coaching program is really easy. So easy, in fact, that anyone can do it. Hence — Anyone Can Coach!

Here are the steps to starting your own coaching business from scratch:

1) You must determine how you can best help others.

What do you know how to do that others struggle with? Do you ever find people saying to you “that was really helpful”? Perhaps you are able to help people with their relationships, or maybe you are financially savvy and you can help people with their budgets. Or maybe you are good with animals, and you could help people with their pets. Or maybe you can help people with their help. It is different for everyone. What about YOU? What can YOU help people with?

2) Once you know what you can help others with, simply decide you are going to create a coaching program to help others.

Once you’ve done that, write down a list of everything you can help with, for example, if you are a health coach, your list might include: exercise, carbs, raw foods, etc. Make the list as long as possible.

3) Next you’ll need a simple website with a squeeze page.

You can get basic web hosting, and download a squeeze page template online (just Google “squeeze page template”; buy one that comes with directions for editing and uploading)

4) Then begin to write one article per day teaching some topic in your chosen area.

(You can even use this article as a model. Notice it has an introduction, a few basic points, then a closing area.) Put the article online either on your website, on someone else’s website as a guest blog post, or put it on a community website online like Squidoo, Facebook, or EzineArticles.

5) Get an autoresponder service

(I like Aweber for beginners and Infusionsoft for advanced marketers) and write one email per day, offering great informative content each day. For example, if you are in the health niche, you could write a daily tip, for example, each day a tip about a nutritional food, or a new exercise, etc.

6) Two times per month

Create a simple campaign asking folks on your list if they would like your personal help with their problems. If they would, simply ask them if they want to join your coaching program and sign them up for coaching!
